Muzyczny film z 1965 roku "Dźwięki muzyki" reż. Robert Wiese. Główna bohaterka Maria czuje się nieszczęśliwa jako przyszła zakonnica więc Matka Przełożona w odpowiedzi na list barona von Trappa wysyła ją do jego domu, aby była opiekunką jego siedmiorga dzieci. Na przekór przeciwnościom uczy je śpiewać. Między baronem, a Marią rodzi się miłość. Jednak ich szczęście nie trwa długo. W wyniku przyłączenia Austrii do Niemiec i narastania napięć w Europie baron ma służyć w niemieckiej marynarce... Film był obsypany nagrodami, a płyta z muzyka sprzedała się w ilości ponad 10 milionów na świecie. Autorem muzyki jest słynny Richard Rodgers, aranżacje wykonał Irwin Kostal, autorem słów Oscar Hammerstein II. W rolach głównych wystąpili Julia Andrews i Christopher Plummer.
